Shapelamp was set up in 2017 with the sole objective to revolutionise the process of buying a light fitting. Founded by two lifelong friends, an architect and an engineer, the concept merges computational design and digital fabrication.
Shapelamp gives the opportunity to anyone to intuitively design their own custom lights, using a unique online design tool.
Shapelamp’s award winning design to fabrication process, guarantees that each lighting unit is manufactured specifically to the client’s requirements, combining the latest in automated rapid manufacturing and the traditional manual material processing.
Through the use of natural recyclable materials and the latest in energy efficient LED lighting technology, sustainability is at the core of Shapelamp’s values.

All Shapelamps are processed and assembled in a near carbon neutral building, and by means of emerging rapid prototyping technology, the concept of mass-customisation ensures a close to zero waste production process, as units are only manufactured on demand
